Inspiration for the BOSS Orange Spring/Summer 2012 collection is the hippie culture of the 70’s, love and freedom, with influences from India, particularly in the use of strong colours, rich materials and detailed use of embroidery.

A BOSS Orange tee print says, “Love is simple, Love is Orange”: the theme turns the 70’s influences into a design statement for the 21st century, overflowing with strong pieces such as camouflage print jackets, a profusion of stripes, elaborate needlework, flared jeans and crochet knitwear.
The accent is on less constructed shapes, celebrating volume, using fluid fabrics for drape and crossover ideas. Hand embroidery, sometimes combined with beading for scarves, makes every piece feel special.
The spirit of the collection is best summed up in full-length dresses and skirts in all-over prints and super soft materials. Dress for relaxation in a long jersey dress with a blurred stripe print that has a watery impact. Besides the camouflage print, there’s a dégradé floral print, which comes in a long bluish silk dress. Soft tailored suits in denim optics create a relaxed BOSS Orange option. Slim pants are in the collection, but flared styles are a must-wear this season.
