A stylish wooden frame in the shape of a miniature gallows enlightens our life with a nuance of irony.

Gallows lamp by designer Niko Economidis, Brooklyn, NY.
Similar to its namesake the purpose of this structure is to support something attached to a cord. In the case of the gallows lamp it is a lighting element consisting of a LED strip light. The lamp references the design language of a shameful past, however its scale and function as a desk lamp, makes light of this resemblance. An extra long cloth cord reinforces the representation, and the hollow structure of the gallows reveals the cord and LED lamp as elements separate from the structure.
