‘The initial concept for this item was completely different; it was born from the identification of the female figure in an existing laundry Peg. Although the product had a good image to it, it lost its charm when in use due to the fact that the girls were upside down. But we played around with different concepts for laundry pegs, and tightrope walkers came to mind.
The research was exciting, including a viewing of the fascinating movie ‘Man on wire’ of the daring Frenchman high-wire walker- Philippe Petit.
Inbal Hoffman illustrated the characters with the vintage circus posters in mind, and the colour choice was made to match the vintage feeling.
Hagai Zakai worked on building the characters in 3D, while leaving some of the detailed features to be in print only.
Several sets of prototypes were prepared until we reached the required quality feel to the product
Alongside the work on the characters, we started working on the packaging which had an important role in the presentation of the concept.
Tal Rubin worked on the packaging concept and Klementyna Jankiewicz on the graphic design, they both did a great job.’
