‘In October 2011 the Schwarzkopf LIGHTBOX by Karl Lagerfeld was awarded with the iF communication design award 2012. The reusable and recyclable pop-up-store received the prize in the category corporate architecture. The mobile hair temple was being built for four weeks on Düsseldorf’s Königsallee, on occasion of the European Song Contest in Düsseldorf in May 2011. The concept design by Karl Lagerfeld therefore was architecturally planned and realized by HPP Architects. The store communicates itself mainly by a changeable illuminated façade, made of 60 lighting fields. These fields show silhouettes of the models of Karl Lagerfeld’s Music Lovers photo exhibition, inspired by Schwarzkopf’s famous company key visual.
Since six decades the iF design award honors extraordinary design work. The iF label internationally stands for outstanding design.’
