the shape of things: architecture, design, interior, art, style

13.07 2011

Paris based photographer Marc DA CUNHA LOPES depicts a series of paradoxical skeletons in a domestic background. Creatures of unknown origin, in postures that resemble old, weak and lonesome people inhabit an otherwise abandoned, void of life, world. The skeletons, fossils of the past just like the elder people, imply a narrative of isolation and loneliness. Marc DA CUNHA LOPES juxtaposes reality and fragments of an imaginary world with exquisite aesthetical elaboration, thus creating powerful imagery and evoking intense emotions.
