Terminal01 have designed a mixed use high rise building in the Osaka city centre on a rectangular narrow site overlooking a park. The façade is a composition of different densities of concrete and glass panels that accommodate the commercial uses on the lower floor and the residential units on the upper floors. The residential section comprises of twenty six housing units composed of 7 different layouts with the luxury flats occupying the top two floors to take full advantage of the views. Shiny wall and floor surfaces reflect outside scenes to the interior including weather and light changes making the inhabitants more aware of the surrounding environment. The main entrance of the building carries the same philosophy: ‘…White marbled walls with imbedded crystals illuminated by light glitters as one walks across this space. On the side of steel girders stainless steel blind is hung, and galvanized steel panel is placed on the underside. These materials create multiplicity to the character of the space through the reflection from the constantly changing light during the day…’
