the shape of things: architecture, design, interior, art, style

Luxurious and slightly experimental, the glamorously nerdy collection draws inspiration from architecture.

Ports 1961

Designer Tia Cibani presented the Ports 1961 Autumn / Winter 2011 collection at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York.

Surprising architectural, the new collection has pleasant nuances of edgy experimentation. The winter look is austere, with collar shirts and pencil skirts and still feminine. The high belted waist draws attention to the bust and stretches the silhouette. A perfect look for the office. Small details, like the knee high socks, play with stereotypes insinuating a glamorously nerdy mixture of schoolteacher and girly style. The unusual, glittering fabrics add a luxurious feel to the collection.
