ZFU-05 was created for the exhibition Z.W.L. 3.0 by the Centre of Contemporary Art in S-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands about the old (water inundation based) defense line. This work (loosely translated as ‘Southern Front Unit – 05) was placed in an area with gated communities shaped like fortresses, as a reminder of the times when that area was an inundation area in the defence line around the city of S-Hertogenbosch. Waiting for high water and action, this station is fitted with a landing strip, a control cabin and necessary communication equipment.
