The Dream Ball Project
The meeting between human and design, with happiness.

With the aim for the public weal and welfare of entire human society
Unplug Design, always thought about better days for the entire human race.
Their design is not an element but an agent which makes things worthy.
While making not only results of material production, but also spiritual meanings,
they are eager to participate in the changing process of our life.

1.The Aim of the Dream Ball Project

To the children of The Third World; Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, Congo and etc, which can’t enjoy football freely because of poverty, war and natural disaster,
having a football means a lot and can be a dream and a hope to escape from their poor life.

However, the children are so poor that they can not buy a football.
So, they play football with balls made of plastic bags or a coconut palm leaves
Therefore, giving them their own footballs which can give them hope, is Unplug Design’s aim for this project.

2. Design Concept

Unplug Design suggest that the Dream Ball is made out of relief boxes delivered to poor children by recycling.

A. Create patterns that can help making a ball on the surface of an aid box.

B. Activities of giving aid boxes to children in The Third World.

C. The used aid boxes will be recycled as a football by children using the box patterns.

D. By making the Dream Ball along with the children, the aid organizations will get the chance to befriend them.

3.Design and Usage of Material

- The football

Regarding the material aspect, Unplug Design expected children playing football bare foot.
So, Unplug Design used paper that can be recycled with its thickness changing the intensity and elasticity of the Dream Ball.

- Aid box

If the children take off the paper from an aid box by following the patterns on it,
and assemble those parts following the attached instructions, they can get a football.
Unplug Design can apply those patterns on any type of boxes – a square type, a cylinder type.

Now, when children get a cylinder type aid box filled with supplies, they can move it by rolling that box.

- Size

In case of a football, we can make a regular size football.
Its circumference is between 67cm and 70cm.
We can make various football sizes by changing the patterns.

The size of a cylinder type aid box contains a 35cm height, 21cm diameter and 77cm circumference football.
