The Autumn/Winter collection 2010/11 is conceived as advancement to his previous collections and so carries neither a name nor a motto.
Michael Sontag’s collection is shaped through his passion for design as well as his love for high quality materials.
Sophisticated simplicity, flowing silhouettes and unusual cuts characterize his fashion. The outfits appear natural, stylish and minimalist.
The extravagance of Michael Sontag’s fashion is demonstrated through the almost poetic use of asymmetrical shapes together with the complex design. Through his extraordinary creations, Michael Sontag is able to produce fashion that is casual, elegant and innovative all at the same time. In Short – a complete artwork of precious purity.
Through the working progress new shapes as well as colour combinations originate.
Representative of Michael Sontag’s style are the pleats or rather the art of draping the clothing, which he masters expertly. This is evident in his Autumn/Winter collection 2010/11, especially in the pleats on the shoulders and in the wide-legged trousers.
The spectrum of colours range from light to dark tones: white, sandy and beige tones, brown, moss green, berry nuances, light blue, dark blue and grey. Black and plaid prints appeared for the first time in this collection.
The materials used are cashmere, wool, silk and cotton. Dresses, coats, blazers, blouses, trousers, skirts, jumpers and cloaks can be combined to create a look that is both elaborate and also suitable for daily use. Michael Sontag creates clothing that can be interpreted by the distinctiveness of the woman who wears them. For this, self-confidence and individuality are essential.
