The Vivianna open bangle watch is one of the best-known Georg Jensen watches and an international design icon. The watch is a precise timepiece as well as an exceptional piece of jewellery.
Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe designed her signature watch in 1962 for an exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs at the Louvre in Paris. Along with other selected artists, Vivianna was asked to create the object about which they felt most ambivalent. She chose to redefine the concept of a watch.
The result was her world-famous open bangle watch that not only revolutionised watch design but also embodies an amazing story.
Vivianna created the open bangle design watch to symbolise that we should not be slaves of time. The design compels us to reflect ourselves and our personal existence in the mirror dial. Originally the watch was produced with only a second hand to remind us to live for the moment, to be present in every single second of our lives. Living is about being here and now, now, now ….
Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe’s design made – and still makes – a strong impression with its simplicity, unpretentiousness and elegant beauty. It is stunningly simple and pure. Elegant and refined.
Georg Jensen watches are synonymous with exclusive design, quality and an uncompromising choice of materials: 18 carat gold, high quality steel, sapphire crystal and Top Wesselton diamonds. The watches are Swiss made with Swiss movements assembled and quality-approved in Switzerland. These features guarantee the user a beautiful, reliable and practical watch that only improves with time and lasts for decades.
The legendary VIVIANNA Open Bangle Watch is available in two styles:
