‘In de knoop’ lighting by Ka-Lai Chan

‘In de knoop’ is a lighting design project. The idea was to design a lamp with the basic materials of a bulb connector and an electric cable. . The cable is twisted, turned and knitted into the shape of a lampshade, and as a result, the electricity runs through each and every part of the lamp. This lamp has been created by using a single electric cable; the lamp shade itself is created by combining crochet with knitting techniques. Each lamp is unique and handmade.
