A special exhibition connected with the fair will be held in the BOHEMIAN NATIONAL HALL – Czech Center New York http://www.bohemiannationalhall.com/ in 321 east 73rd Street, NYC 10021, under the name:

CZECH SELECTION, the private view of the exhibition will take place on May 17, 2010 at 6.30 p.m., the exhibition will be open to the public from May 18th to June 11th, 2010.

AMOSDESIGN participates in this exhibition by presenting the artwork POLLEN V – cooperation with the sculptor Tomáš Medek.

POLLEN V by the Brno sculptor Tomáš Medek is another entirely novel interpretation of the material DuPontTM Corian®. The artwork with a complicated organic structure was produced thanks to the combination of a creative design and excellent processing properties of Corian®. Pollen V continues the series of previous pollen grains entitled Pollen I – III, made by Tomáš Medekfrom marble and Pollen IV made from Corian® Glacier White.

Tomáš Medek made himself visible to many people by his stainless steel work of art that won the European competition ART IS STEEL and his work was realized in front of the ACCELOR MITTAL’s management in France.

The artificial stainless steel “snail” is an example of his interest in natural shapes. Medek works with metal, wood, plywood and natural stone. Of these materials he creates geometric structures with a clear inspiration, but his approach allows a new look of well-known and simple shapes.
