The latest iconic project by Shigeru Ban, the Centre Pompidou-Metz in eastern France, is near completion and gives TASCHEN the opportunity to publish a monograph that features all projects built by the architect.
Shigeru Ban (born Tokyo, 1957), is one of the world’s most prominent architects. His work explores the notion of inhabiting and the interaction with the elements of nature. For Shigeru Ban architecture is primarily the art of living.
Philip Jodidio is the author of this monograph. His work includes TASCHEN’s Architecture Now! series, and monographs on Norman Foster, Zaha Hadid, and Jean Nouvel.
A limited Art Edition of the monograph with a hand-crafted mesh of polished African Samba wood, designed by the architect, as a cover, is also about to be published.
